Kerry Washington is an American actress and producer. She gained a wider public recognition in 2012 for starring in the ABC drama Scandal, in which she plays Olivia Pope, a crisis management expert to politicians and power brokers in Washington. She also had many other successful acting gigs under her belt.
Kerry Washington is currently married to Nnamdi Asomugha. Asomugha is a Nigerian of Igbo descent. He is an American actor, producer and former American football corner-back. He played college football for the University of California, Berkeley, and was drafted in the first round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raider.
Since tying the knot, Mr. and Mrs. Asomugha have welcomed two children. Their daughter, Isabelle Amarachi is 3-years-old and their son, Caleb Kelechi was born in October 2016.
Uzo Aduba also a Nigerian of the Igbo decent and a star actor in the series, ‘Orange is the new black’ star.
Washington must have gotten her Igbo language lessons from her husband because she wished Uzo a happy one in Igbo dialect, which is not very easy to learn nor understand for a foreigner.
Kerry Washington sent a happy birthday wish tweet on her Tweeter account to Uzo Aduba thus;

Uzo Aduba replies in her tweet;
“Heh! Nwannem nwanyi, i na asu Igbo??!? Maka o di mma! Nwanne, daalu maka ubochi omumu m.”
